Presentation of the Book “AS IF—16 Dialogues about Sheep, Black Holes, and Movement” by Lungomare from Bolzano in the frame of an international book tour. The discussion will focus on artistic practices in public and independent contexts, in response to the current exhibition at < rotor >, “IN-SITU. Artistic Positions on Endangered Biodiversity and the Coexistence of Species”.

Speakers: Tihana Pupovac – coordinator of Kooperativa – Regional Platform for Culture based in Zagreb, Sophie Krier – artist and researcher, who interweaves biographies of beings and places by conceiving situations for shared reflection. Moderation: Angelika Burtscher & Daniele Lupo – designers, curators and editors of the book.

Lungomare is a platform for design and cultural production based in Bolzano. Their work encompasses communication, exhibition design, spatial concepts and curatorial projects. It creates meeting places and experiential spaces in the urban context and invites artists for collaborative development of thematic and site specific projects.

“AS IF – 16 Dialogues about Sheep, Black Holes, and Movement” is a reader that was published on the occasion of Lungomare’s 20th anniversary. Editors: Angelika Burtscher & Daniele Lupo. Publisher: Spector Books (2023). AS IF invites radical openness and rethinking, highlighting the potential that lies in artistic processes in order to create resonance and lead to a way of acting and being that might connect, heal, and move people towards new collective and social visions.

From January to June 2024, the Lungomare reader AS IF is being presented in an international tour of events together with a number of the authors as guests, along with new voices, chosen to further enhance the dialogue that unfolds in the book, and thus to offer even more points of view on the future.
